New Guy Software question

I just bought a Mk2 kit which I know won''t show for a couple months however I'm trying to get my head around the software. I currently have a RepRap Prusa i3 home brew.

Right now I print from RepetierHost and I download everything for the MK2 and installed Repetier on a Mac and setup the new Prusa Slic3r in the preferences and confirmed it all at least launched correctly. It did.

I'm confused about the "Mac Drivers" package and the ini files in there. There don't seem to be instructions on where they go. Is there a software install guide somewhere?

Also even though I'm making myself smart with the mac stuff I will control this new printer from a Linux Machine with RepetierHost and the Prusa Slic3r.

I'm still confused about the mac ini files though. Any help appreciated.

The ini settings are the load profile for Slic3r? Correct?

However I read the default setting is Cubic yet mine wasn't configured that way.

Hi John,

yes the ini files are the Slic3r profiles, one for the old 3mm version, one for the mk1 version end one for mk2 version.

However, not being a Mac user, I can't help much more :/

I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.

Re: New Guy Software question

This might help you load the default print/filament settings.

Download the Mac drivers, which will save to your download folder by default.

Open Slic3r, and click File in the menu bar. Select the Load Config Bundle.

Navigate to ~/Downloads/prusa3d_mac_1_7_5/mk2_Slic3r_prusa3d_1_7_5.ini and open.

You should have the default settings loaded in.

Jesse
