Firmware updater
Having just got a Mk2 printer up and running - sort of - still hardware issues - but that is another matter, thought I would update the firmware on the Rambo board from 3.0.7 as delivered to 3.0.9.
Installed the older updater from the Prusa3d_win__1_7_4.exe package onto an older netbook running Windows XP.
The Pronterface software worked well, connecting to com13, and allows to show and control the printer. No problems there - looks really nice.
The updater loaded to the PC, and I selected the correct firmware, but the port scan showed no ports, so cannot select one for the upgrade.
Tried also the newer firmware_updater_Mk2 downloaded with the 3.0.9 firmware, but that does not work either, flashes up the start screen, then immediately quits.
Tried installing the firmware_updater_Mk2 on my office win10 machine, and that works ok, scans the ports, and allows to select the connected printer. Update to 3.0.9 firmaware worked ok on the second go around.
So it looks as though Win10 works ok for upgrades, but WinXP does not.
There is no mention in anything I saw so far about which version Windows is suitable. Would be much more convenient to use the netbook near the printer, rather than cart the printer to the office machine, but if I have to, its no huge deal.
Can anyone confirm this, or otherwise ?

The firmware updater is simply the Chrome browser in disguise.
When you were using it on the XP machine, were you still connected to the printer with Pronterface? If so, that would prevent any other connection.

I tried fw updater on old netbook with WinXP. Same problem - no COMs available in updater.

I plug in the USB and fire up Pronterface. I get nice screen that likes like it could do a lot but only shows com1 and com3, neither of which are the MK2. Device Manager says the device is not installed properly.
What to do???
