Auto Calibration Feature request
Hello all,
I just assembled my MK2 kit and have what I am sure a common error after XYZ calibration: "X/Y skewed severely. Skew will be corrected automatically."
Although the firmware is ssmart to compensate for the skew, I wonder if it is possible to detect / suggest which of the M10 rods to be adjusted.
I mean, the PINDA probe knows which of the sensor points it missed; it should be able to suggest the skew correction as well.
Thanks,
Madhu.
Re: Auto Calibration Feature request
The printer won't provide this information at the moment. If you want to get the frame to perfect shape, you will have to use caliper and other tools and find out yourself. You can also use the printer itself. If you look closely to the heatbed, you can see calibration points as small circles. If you set manually the extruder to one of them with no offset, you should get to adjacent one by moving only one axis. But measuring tools are more accurate.
We hope more information will be included in some of future firmware versions.
Re: Auto Calibration Feature request
I know I have my printer square now when I run Calibrate XYZ because I used the assembly instruction recommendation of 100mm from the Z-Frame to the Y-axis rear. I also know that the Y-Axis linear rods are 170mm on center. I have a Digital Caliper that can go up to 1 foot in length so this works great for me.
and an 8 inch (200mm) or greater caliper is recommended.
