Z-Axis ignores Live Adjust Z Setting every new print

Hi Guys,

before 1 Week i replaced the stock Bearings on my MK2 with Misumi Bearings on all axes, and the XYZ Calibration failes because the Probe cant detect the first Point at the front and the Nozzle scratches on the Printbed.

Then i lowered the Pinda Probe slightly 1/4 Turn ClockWise to pass and complete the XYZ Calibration.

Everything was fine until this Point.

Now i have the Problem with the Live Adjust Z Calibration and a printhead thats prints in the air at every new print. 😥

I can set my correct Value (-0,800mm) for the first Live Adjust Z calibration. When i start a print the second time, the Value on the Display is the same as before, because the printhead starts printing in the air, where it was set after the XYZ Calibration.

For me it seems, that the Z-Axis ignore the Adjust Z Setting i set before, and i always have to lower down the Printhead at every new print to set the correct hight. My value goes at this moment to -1,600mm and so far because it dont save it.

I use the current Firmware 3.0.10 and go back for testing to 3.0.9, but it changes nothing.

I also perform a full Factory reset and i have checked that the probe works properly .

Thanks 🙂

Re: Z-Axis ignores Live Adjust Z Setting every new print

This works for me:

- start the print (the extruder, in my case, hits the bed on the calibration points)
- cancel the print
- move z axis to +100mm (settings - move z axis)
- go to home point (calibration - home point). here you have to see if the extruder respects your z live adjust value
- if ok, start the print again

sometimes I have to repeat this steps 2 or 3 times, but finally I can print successfully

have you run the V2Calibration gcode?

that code finalises the calibration process...

Hi Guys,

first Thing i have to say is WOW. You Guys here in Forum are fantastic. 😉

I was going to get nightmares about this Adjust Z Thing. I was thinking i broke something after replacing the bearings.

I used the Calibration Surface gcode from the Forum here to get a better overview for the first layer, but i forgot that you have to run the V2Calibration after the XYZ to finish the Calibration.

Now i have printed the Calibration Surface after i run the V2Calibration and everything is perfect.

Many many Thanks 😎

Each of us have some answers. None of us have all of the answers. Together we are a collective. . Anything that us likeky ro happen is likely to have happened to one of us already. :-). The best way to get help is to describe the problem well and pictures often help. Regards Joan.
