Z-axis assembly issue - MK2s
Hi guys,
Currently assembling a MK2s and have run into my first issue.
I am up to putting the X-axis onto the rods and trapezoid screws.
The problem occurs when I try to secure the left and right top Z-axis pieces.
I can secure one side and when I go to secure the other side the rod and screw are pushed out and therefore the holes don't line up.
I took the rods out and then made sure to place them all the way into the holes. I then put the X-axis back onto the rods and this time secured the side that was the problem before, which was fine but then the other side rod and screw were pushed out too far.
Any ideas? Have I made a mistake and used the wrong rods somewhere?
Here is a pic of the issue.
Thanks!
Re: Z-axis assembly issue - MK2s
looks like you got your X & Y rods mixed up , if not that then make sure the rods on the X-axis are pushed all the way in and that the bolts on the end are backed out.
Z-axis is the shortest ones (320mm)
Y-axis is the medium ones (330mm)
X-axis are the longest ones.
I dont know which guide you are using but the online one from Prusa site has Hi-res pics and a better view than the book that comes with it.

Re: Z-axis assembly issue - MK2s
Thanks for your reply.
It was exactly the bolts on the end being in too far and pushing the rods out.
Feels good to have it all fit together now! 😀
Thanks!

no problem and good luck with the rest of the assembly 🙂
