Y Axis Not Moving

I just assembled my prusa i3 printer and everything is working great except my y-axis is not moving at all! I tried reducing the tension and making the tension of the belt greater and still no progress. Does anyone know what may be causing this?

Hi Michael,
welcome to our forums.

Does the motor make any sound?

Which version do you have? MK2?

Yes, the motor still makes a sound and the shaft seems like it is getting jammed. I also have the original prusa i3 and not the mk2!

Make sure the grub screw of the belt pulley gear is fully tightened on the flat of the motor spindle, otherwise it will slip and the belt won't move.

Re: Y Axis Not Moving

Hi Michael,

in addition, if you try to move the Y'axis manually, does it make the motor turn as well ?

Other troubleshooting step, if you remove the belt, does the motor turn as intended ?

I'm like Jon Snow, I know nothing.
