Y axis far out of alignment

After assembling my MK2S printer and trying to troubleshoot my issues, It is increasingly frustrating to get it working properly!
First of all, my probe and circles do not match up on the Y! It is off by 11mm. This is IMPOSSIBLE to fix due to the frames attachment limitations!

I have read through 100's of pages in the forums to find a solution but nothing addresses the machine being off the Y by that much!

Can you PLEASE assist me? Please don't send me to: http://help.prusa3d.com/mk2-movement-calibration/172660-p-i-n-d-a-probe-misaligned
Because this does not address my problems.

Looking forward to anyones assistance!

Do you have the Y chassis right way around?

Re: Y axis far out of alignment

I hear your frustration wayne, I dealt with a similar issue when I assembled my Prusa i3 MK2 kit earlier this year. Two small things to fix before the probe lined up and the printer did its self calibration OK. ➡

First was the X axis sheave on the right hand side. You have the drive motor on the left side and the sheave on the right side, the sheave is to allow the belt to rotate around it. Well I had over tightened mine. The belt was not free to move/rotate so the friction was to high. This was the cause of the X or left right off alignment.

The second was the Y axis end stop, somehow it was not far enough ahead or towards the moving bed so the bed movement was to far back before the limit switch triggered. Again not allot but enough, and in combination of the two small errors that the probe would not "see" the alignment spot.

As a secondary note I did eventually add a 2 layer thick shim on the under bed carriage so the Y limit switch would trigger consistently in the correct spot.

I have been printing now for about 4 months and have been able to solve a number of other issues with a combination of three things, reading here as you are doing. Logically thinking through the movement issues as it relates to belts and limit switches to make small adjustments.

And third, NEVER, EVER even think of giving up! 😡

If you want something different for tomorrow you have to DO something different today. 💡

We have all had major frustration at some point while starting out with 3D printing, and it is always obvious AFTER the fact, but at the time, very baffling. I agree with the quote above. This is a great machine that, once you climb the learning curve, will be a very robust tool with amazing quality output. Hang in there, and post questions here. You will find a very knowledgeable and supportive group. You will get it printing, and you will master getting great quality. Hang in there.

If Peter and my's suspicion is not correct, please let us know and post pictures from above and below.
