XYZ Calibration Fail

I just assembled my Prusa I3 Mk2 yesterday and I can not get it to pass the calibration tests, I just get the consistent "XYZ calibration failed. please consult the manual." I have adjusted the probe lower multiple times and it is now almost touching the build plate. I have tightened the belts and have even disassembled and reassembled the whole machine. at this point i am getting frustrated as i have no idea what is wrong, "please consult the manual" really does not help me out at this point.

... i have no idea what is wrong...
even harder to tell from our side, remote diagnostics requires a lot of more informations.... and sometimes a crystal ball !

but you can check a few things:

1st: is your pinda probe working ?
2nd: are the endstop switches & pinda probe connected properly to the rambo board ?
3rd: are the endstops triggering ?
4th: is nothing hindering the movement of the x-carriage (for example zip-ties or cables) ?
5th: do the 10mm threaded rods sit completely down into the notches of the z-frame ?

then:
did you do the selftest ? if so, what was the result ?
does at least only z-calibration work, or does it fail as well ?

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Re: XYZ Calibration Fail

It passes the self test fine, as well as the z calibration. Also the XYZ calibration fails after the initial 4 points. Do the 10 mm rods need to be perfectly in the frame, the right side is slightly protruding from the other side of the frame.

Re: XYZ Calibration Fail

I know you said you have taken it apart and put it back together. Looking at http://help.prusa3d.com/mk2-movement-calibration/calibrate-x-y-info-and-errors It says "XYZ calibration failed. Please consult the manual. The calibration points were found in positions far from what should be expected for a properly assembled printer. Please follow the instructions of previous case."

Maybe "Auto Home" and check if the Pinda is in the circle at point 1?

Re: XYZ Calibration Fail

I have the same issue. I too have re positioned the pinda probe many, many times, using zip ties, credit and business cards to set the distance between probe and bed. Checked and rechecked all cables, movements, end stops, ran through the Pinda tests to see if its working (it is) and rechecked the measurements from the corners to the z frame (100.35mm on one 100.33 on the other). I checked using two business cards taped to the bed on the lines and they line up very nicely with the z frame. I'm basically stuck at this point. I've only ever gotten the "consult the manual" error and seem to have exhausted trouble shooting. I have yet to print anything.

edit: pass self test every time I run it. When I run the Z calibration it runs through the cycle and then just goes back into the default screen with no success or fail message. mesh bed leveling says calibration successful.

HOLY CRAP I fixed it. I loosened all screws on the bottom of the bed to finger tight and I finally completed calibration with "XYZ Calibration all right. X/Y axis are slightly skewed. Good Job!"

@richard-l7

which screws are you talking about...  the ones holding the bed to the carriage, or the ones holding the bearings?  I'm having a xyz calibration error that I can't get rid of, so I'm looking for something I haven't tried.
