X-belt rubbing
Hello,
I got a small "issue" with my MK2S. It looks like the X-belt rubbed on the guide of the pulley, i have a nice amount of black cr*p around the right pulley.
I looked that the X-belt is aligned and as far as i know, it is.
Is it something bad or it's something that can happen ?
Thanks !
John.
Re: X-belt rubbing
I've recently noticed this on mine as well. My belt also exhibits a "twisting" motion as direction is changed. I've ordered some more belt off the net and plan on changing mine and not installing it as tight. I may have mine over-tightened and had trimmed the original belt as it was dragging on the lower. Don't know if it will help with the chafing but may help with the twisting. I'll report back.

Re: X-belt rubbing
This problem is a year+ old and should of been fixed in mk2s at least. This is the first thing i noticed. i moved the belt out a tiny bit from the extruder and it doesn't flake off belt anymore but you can still tell it's trying to ride up the side during movements. reducing belt tension doesn't fix that either. might make the screw hole wider so the idler can be shifted a bit. i rather not have to print a whole new part.
Re: X-belt rubbing
I'm having a similar issue with my newly assembled MK2S.
I've searched the forums and I only advice I see is to either loosen the belts or print a new part. There does not seem to be an official fix from Prusa.
Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
Thanks.
Re: X-belt rubbing
Someone posted a good illustration on what causes the belt to rub, I don't think there is adjustment that you can make to solve the issue.

A modified x-carriage is needed, there are several version available on thingiverse, here is mine: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2541730
I raised the parts that hold the belt by 4 mm that would allow the belt to be installed further back.
