X Axis Stuck
Hi there everyone,
Ever since I assembled my printer, on the X Axis I noticed that there's a point in the mid section where I need some extra effort to push it by hand, but it was ok when it's driven by the motors.
But during a print yesterday the X Axis stopped moving and stayed in the center, after I pushed it off the center it started working as usual again.
Is there anything I should check?
Also, do I need to lubricate or perform any sort of maintainence on the rods or linear bearings?
Re: X Axis Stuck
Is your X belt tensioned enough? It should "ring" as a guitar/bass string.
You can use some oil to lubricate the rods. Once a month should be more than enough. But a bad lubricated rod should not lead to your issue.

Yup, tension is not the problem. It's been working fine for the past 2 months!
Re: X Axis Stuck
The tension may have to be corrected after to month. The belt might stretch.
When your X axis was stuck, was the motor turning and the belt skipping or nothing was moving?
If nothing was moving, you should check your X motor connection and cables. If everything is ok, it could simply be a faulty X motor which cannot provide enough torque anymore and you should then contact Prusa.

Yeah, when it was stuck nothing was moving, when it tried to move, there was a faint sound from it like it tried to move. But now it's working properly again. Will have to keep an eye on it I guess.
Re: X Axis Stuck
Sounds like a ball had slightly come out of the bearing and jammed...
If it happens again, replacing the bearings may be the next step.

Oh.. that's a VERY LIKELY, cause I remember during assembly I thought I heard some balls fall off, but when I looked into it, I still saw all the balls in the bearing tracks so I thought were fine..
