Re: X axis software binding

Looks to me as if the x-motor pulley might be lose?
Is the small grub screw inside the pulley tightened against the flat side of the motor shaft?

So forgive my ignorance, but I don't see why the x-axis hardware would be the issue since it worked fine for calibration. However, since it was asked for, I double checked it, and also slightly tightened the idler as I had it somewhat loose due to https://www.reddit.com/r/3Dprinting/comments/5el9vm/prusa_i3_mk2_xaxis_not_moving_extruder_carriage/ seemingly being close, but now I get "XYZ Calibration failed. Bed calibration point was not found."

Re: X axis software binding

I don't have a sound explanation either, its just something I ran into myself. I had a pulley slip occasionally - usually later in the print. So it would pass calibration and even the first couple layers and then slip.

I guess something else to check is if the carriage moves smoothly with power off (or belt removed). Given the sad state of the bearings i received in my kit, that could cause binding as well. (But yours sounded pretty good in your video).

Ok, so it WAS jerking along while powered off, all I did was loosen the motor and pulley to see if it was the belt or the smooth rods, it moved smoothly without the belt, so I tightened them back on and now it at least prints, and now I've just got printing issues (not sticking to the bed, etc) but we're in the right direction!

Apparently after getting the first layer settings mostly down, I feel something...

...and I feel...

Re: X axis software binding

There ya go.. Lookin much better.

(I think you could lower the nozzle a tiny bit more btw. Looks like it has some gaps still. I prefer the 1st layer solid and a little squished)
