X-Axis Belt too long (MK2S build, Steps 4.17-25)
I'm finding it impossible to meet all of these criteria:
My belt is 850mm long and I can put it in to not stick out but then the belt is very loose. I can trim the belt to make it tight but then I am not keeping the 850mm of belt (or it needs to stick out a little, like the Y-axis belt does.
Since this is on the frame I can't think of how it is even possible that the distances aren't precise.
Any ideas?

OK I re-read the manual and it looks like it can stick out on one side but not the other.
So that's what I'm going with but if I have it wrong please advise. Seems like a bad spot to get it wrong.

You are correct there should be no excess on the idler side of the X-axis but a little on the motor side is fine (not like several centimeters)

I had to cut the excess of both the X and Y belts when i assmbled my printer

Thanks for both of your replies, and sorry for my late one.
I ended up leaving a bit hanging out on the motor side and it seems to be fine (I think!). I've never seen that part go that far to the left to be an issue.
