Wierd problem with print
Hello,
I am making a tool for a carbon fiber shoehorn but I cannot get the print right.
About 2/3 up the print something is failing and some layers are smearing and making a mess .
I wanted to make it in ABS and printed 2 times with the same result and then I remade the stl-file but the same result.
After 3 failed ABS attempts I tried PLA but got the same failed print.
The failing is about the same height but not exactly as you can see in the prints.
What am I doing wrong?
Most appreciative of all help I can get!

Re: Wierd problem with print
I have had something like that when the filament has got tangled, ( Because I let the end go loose and some loops got out of place,) when the filament was used by the extruder, the filament on the roll would almost tie itself in a knot, and restrict free running. leading to under extrusion.

Re: Wierd problem with print
Thanks for your input Joan!
No entanglement though.
I will try it again, changed the 3d-model with some other radii and printing in PLA.
If this is not working I will rotate the print 90 deg around Z-axis

Wont that put all of the strain onto the inter filament bonds?

Re: Wierd problem with print
Problem solved! 😀
Im 99% sure it was the faulty radius that messed up the print.
Two small dots on the surface other than that the print is perfect. Sanding of the mold surface will be minimum.
Very impressed by the print quality.
