Weird pause issue.. print paused but print-timer keeps running

Well.. this is the strangest thing happened to my MK2 since assembling it from the kit 3 weeks back. I was printing the gcode generated from Wonky_Drawers.stl downloaded from thingiverse. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1293330/#files

The gcode was generated using Slic3r Prusa Edition on a Windows 10 machine using the settings file "mk2_Slic3r_prusa3d_1_7_5.ini". The layer height was 1.5mm for all layers and 2mm for 1st layer. I started the print before going to bed yesterday and observed it for few minutes.. print started fine and was going on ok. When I checked it by today morning after about 7 hours, I found that the print paused but the timer was still running. Unfortunately I reset the printer before taking a photo of the LCD screen.

Here's what I had on the LCD screen:

Nozzle temperature = 210 degree
Bed temperature = 55 degree
Z = 22 (approx.)
FR = 100%
SD -----% (no percentage here)
Timer = 7 hrs 15 minutes (and still running)
Bottom most line had 3 hrs 15 minutes (and paused) => this is the line where we see "Prusa i3 ready" or "Self test complete"

Wondering what could be the reason for this sudden automatic pause in middle of the print. The extruder didn't move to home position - it stayed above the bottom part of the model and the nozzle & bed temperature heating was still on and print-timer was running. Note there are two different timers displayed on LCD and the 1st one was running/ticking continuously and the 2nd one at the bottom most line was frozen.

If you are printing from SD card, then you maybe didn't allow sufficient time for the slicer to complete before copying or you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" windows feature.
