Very high noise levels from X and Y axis
Hi, I've just assembled my printer and it got everything ok on the self test and my axis are perpendicular.
But I everything makes very uncomfortably loud vibration noises compared to my old 3d printer(reprappro mendel). I've looked through the forums and can't find any solutions.
I notice that noise mainly comes from the motors, the Y axis motor vibrates a lot and when I apply slightly pressure on them it quiets down a bit - on both axis.
The cables are tighten so that they make a ping noise like an instrument.. as per instructions and I did not have any difficulties mounting the engines when I tighten the belts. They don't really feel overtighten, I'm going to try to lower them a bit just in case the next time I get the chance.
Both axies slides just fine and freely before putting on the belts, I also noticed all motors got luke warm during the calibrations, normal?

As you suggested, I would by start by loosening up the belts. The motors will get warm during printing. That is normal. Most people complaining of noise are hearing it from the bearings rolling along the rods.

I looked at these, and couldn't see how they could work, so didn't print them
it looks like they clip on to the studding at the frame corners...
I noticed someone printed just the outlines, no top, no bottom and no fill... this would make a sort of spring, which may reduce the noise transfer...
again I haven't tried this,
others have tried something like this

That is exactly how they are supposed to be printed and they do work quite well.
There are also other types in the improvements section.
