uneven z lines

Hi,
Built my MK2s printer last week and has mostly been a smooth ride. Had a few issues, which I found solutions for on this forum!!
Very helpful.

Haven't seen a solution to this one thought.

Have I gotten a X&Y perpendicular message in the calibrations, doubled checked my axis and tightened all bolts.
No noticeable wobble when it's moving.

I get these anomalies on all my prints, sometimes worse.... (i sanded them down.. forgot to take a screenshot)

So i printed this little octogon to show the lines. Any ideas what i can do?
This is Prusa white PLA.
have adjusted the flow... no luck.

printed @ 2.0mm using Prusa Control.

There are a number of possible causes for this.

Some are within the slicer, some are mechanical.

Do you get these on pre-sliced model or only ones you sliced?

So,
I've gone through the link.
I've done the 2 temperature calibrations.

I adjusted the y and x belts, made sure the idlers were aligned better.

This is another model i sliced with prusa control, same as the picture before.

I've done full z calibration, printing the squares and aligning them.

My belts arn't loose,

I adjusted the y belt position by a mm front and back, (i was off from the build instructions)

As Aaron has suggested, print one of the pre-sliced models from the SD card (Adalinda or the Castle).

hmmm okay... i'll print Adalinda tonight... (it's 11pm atm),
don't want to print the castle if i don't have to... thats 23hrs~

you need to print something with flat vertical surface .printing adalinda wont help much , just a waste of filament .

if its repeating pattern that changes depending on your part size , then it could be uneven filament diameter .
try printing same part at different locations on the bed

For the most part the adalinda dragon came out good!. Some of the lines are still present.

So the image i posted above. I printed two of them... and the pattern seams to be identical. Havent tried a different part of the bed yet.

As i said earlier, was using prusa control... so the settings are limited.
I can switch to the Prusa Slic3r edition and print slice with that.

On the prusa control, i'm just adding Brim and settings it to 0.2mm with a 20% fill

What temperature are you printing at?

How does that compare to the temp of the pre-sliced file that printed well?

My suggestion is to check temperature and speeds. I don't use Prusa Control so I can't help specifically.

Try one of your models but slow the print down to 80% from the front panel and see if that helps.

Out of curiosity as I've had similar problems, are there any specific settings you look for when there are shifted Z layers?

Been printing at the default 210 deg.

Ok. So i sliced the model in slic3r prusa edition and the results are much better !
Still displays some lines but its much butter.

The picture attached left is prusa control. settings 0.2mm 20% infill 210 deg.

Slicer i tried to set the same. Using the latest preset from github.

reading online,
i should try a temperature tower, and find the best temp to print this filament at. I read that white pla can string easily?
so many a lower temp might solve the remainder of my issues.

Any thoughts?

Temperature is a variable that you should look into, for your filament.

Most PLA's are quite forgiving, but I have had some minor sensitivities with both a white and a red.
