[Closed] Tolerance Off in Front End

Tolerance Off in Front End

I have been trying to print the Tolerance Gauge Test. No matter what I change, the front half always runs closer together and bonds quickly compared to the back half.

My live z looks great on all 9 points. The initial distance looks fine, but begins to get closer around 1mm or so and get visibly closer together.

Any ideas? Changed horizontal offset in Simplify3d with no change.

Cory, there are just so many variables to get that right, the tolerance gauge challenge suggests that you stay clear form the horizontal compensation factor as that would be "cheating", the best I got from my prusa without cheating is 0.1 thats 100 microns and managed to get 50 micron with horizontal compensation, but then again how many things are you really going to be printing at 50 microns.

To get the 50 microns you would need an enclosure, vibration isolation stands and everything perfect. Took me 2 weeks of printing and testing to get it right, it's possible but the consistency of getting it everytime would be questionable.

Thats my 2 cents worth of input.

Hi Xray, when you say "isolation stands" are you referring to something other than the rubber button stands which come with the Mk3?

The enclosure for the Mk3 is almost done, but I am curious- when you write "Everything [else] perfect" - what do you mean?

I would like to get as close to that 50 micron mark as possible.
