It's fine in both Cura and KISSlicer. I believe there is an issue with Slic3r (PC version only) where PR's STL files will not open without a whole load of errors. See this post by Roman: http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=334&p=2837#p2837

you are right cura has no problems at all 😀 . One time I had quite a big model around 30 MB and slicer would just not slice it. It was laggy and I just couldnt get the g code generated. 🙁 it would stop and crash multiple times. Then I just abbandoned this idea 😡 . I recently installed cura and was wondering If you will be so kind and shared your settings that works. I really like all the features in Cura. Maybe start a new Thread for CUra settings.

Thank you.

Jozef.

Sorry, but I don't use Cura very much. I especially don't like the later versions; I am running 15.04.2, but only use this when KISSlicer fails (very rare!).

For me, KISS produces much more accurate results and is more flexible - once you understand what the settings do.

Re: Temp dropping in mid-print

Thanks for the help. I think I have the gcode file generated, but I have one stupid question...I have not been able to find information on how the SD card is supposed to be formatted. The one that was supplied with the system works in the machine, but my windows box can't read it.

Re: Temp dropping in mid-print

Hi Scott

I believe that it is formatted as FAT32, which should be readable by a Windows PC. If that is not the case then check your SD card reader attached to the PC.

If the card can be read by the printer and not by a PC, then something at the PC end is problematic.

Re: Temp dropping in mid-print

Not sure if this helps, but I had an issue with the heat bed temperature dropping in the middle of the print and it was due to the plastic connectors on the circuit board not making a good connection. I had to remove the plastic connectors and solder the heater cables directly to the board and has since worked fine. I do have the 3mm version so it's different but yeah.

I don't think this is specifically your issue but if it helps, it's worth noting.

Re: Temp dropping in mid-print

One comment on the model. I tried the Linux version of Slic3r and it also had issues with the model. Looking into it more, the mesh for the model has quite a few non-manifold edges. FreeCad and Blender both callout the issue with the mesh. Most slicer programs have trouble dealing with that. If I figure out how to fix it I'll post a corrected version.

Re: Temp dropping in mid-print

I used Blender to clean up the STL file. Here is the modified STL file without the non-manifold edges. I have it printing now will let you know how it turns out.
