Sudden rough prints problem need help!
So I have been printing fine for the past 2 weeks since I have built the printer. But suddenly about 2 days ago when I was printing the object on the left you can see it suddenly become rough. The one next to it was a print I started right after and discover that it now starts like that.
So I decided to print a benchy and it sorta printed fine EXCEPT for the chimney on the top. In the pic below the LEFT one is the one I printed AFTER the problem started and the one on the RIGHT is the one that I printed when I 1st built the printer 2 weeks ago.
I thought it was maybe something in the nozzle so I follow the printer handbook and clean it with the acupuncture needle and that didn't help either. So I atm have no clue what's wrong.
Any idea on what's wrong would be appreciated!!
Thanks!
Re: Sudden rough prints problem need help!
A few things to check:
1) Is the filament free to feed into the extruder, or is the reel binding and having intermittent friction?
2) Is the extruder hob gear connected to the motor via the little set screw or can it move independently of the motor?
3) Is your temperature fuxuating a lot? Try a PID calibration.
4) Might you have a small clog in the extruder? I using a cleaning filament periodically, but you can clean with a nozzle cleaner or a cold pull.
5) If you want the printer, is it moving correctly? Or is it jumping a bit in X/Y? Check belts
Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…
Re: Sudden rough prints problem need help!
I think I solved it wither another XYZ calibration and some Live Z tuning. Don't know why it would suddenly get out of calibration. Anyways seems to be printing fine atm.
