Do you have precision screwdrivers. Use a dremel to cut a notch on the part that is sticking out. Before trying to unscrew it, put in the freezer for 1 hour.

Thanks for the info, that's exactly what I'm planning to do. Is it safe to put the extruder motor in the freezer?

You should get opinions from others, hopefully others on this forum will chime in
- I've done this with other gear, I can't think of any reason why this would be harmful.
- The important thing is that no moisture is introduced.
- when the steppers come from the factory I would think they are on planes and trucks that hit freezing temps

- Put the everything in a ziplock bag with something to absorb all moisture
-- the stuff they pack with new filament
-- rice
-- make sure no excess air is in the ziplock bag

- Wait 2 hours before throwing into the freezer so the moisture is absorbed.

Other ideas
- Instead of using the freezer, hit it with compressed air from a can
- You could also go in the other temp direction by using a soldering iron on the bolt. Heating and cooling cycles sometimes helps.
- If you have some oil, maybe that will help.

btw.: hope it's only the grub screw that's damaged (i think it was an m3 one) and not the threads inside the brass pulleye.

I feel we had that topic before. 😉

Try a Torx instead of a hex wrench. They fit but have more grip.

Superglue (carefull not to make it worse!) a hex or torx into the set screw.
