Stretched X-Axis Belt

I've been printing with no troubles from my MK2 for a couple weeks now. Today I had a major failure. The x-axis belt got stretched somehow during a print. It was unattended, so I don't know the cause. I came home to a mass of spaghetti in the print bed. But I could see on the print where things went downhill when the x-axis started skipping teeth. And I found a spot on the belt where it's very stretched out.

So my questions:
1. Where do I find an equivalent sized replacement belt?
2. What could possibly be the cause?

Re: Stretched X-Axis Belt

You printed a big object, correct?

The print head hit the object, the object did not move resulting in the belt warp.

The belt is 6mm GT2, if you get a couple of metres,, you will have spare for next time!

Yeah, it was a big object. 4th time printing the same object though and the other 3 went fine. But you may be right that it hit this time. Weird.

Ordered 5 meters of replacement belt. Thanks!
