(SOLVED) Blue screen of death
Hi everyone,
I just finish assembling my kit and plug my printer... to blue screen of death ! Nothing on the LCD.
I double/triple check connections.
I try different combination, switching the LCD cable, moving them upside down, turning the "key" from one side to another... nothing.
If I plug cables according to picture, I get an empty blue screen
On all other options, I just get black screen.
Any idea on how to solve this ?

i ran into the same problem.
usually pin#1 at the ribbon cable is marked with the red wire.
so i put the connector that way at the rambo board.
but in our weird case pin#10 is the one with the red wire.
after turning the connectors around at the rambo board it worked (you still need to avoid mixing up both cables).
if everything is wired correctly and you still see nothing at the screen, try to adjust the lcd contrast with the small onboard trimmer at the lcd unit.
by the way: does the printer react on pushing the knob at the lcd ?
furthermore: which color show the LEDs at the rambo board ?
if you can't get the lcd work, try to connect the printer, via usb, to the computer and run that pronterface program.

Thank a lot !
Dial on the back of LCD did the trick ! Looks like it's not fully operational but, after struggling with it, I can read my screen and I pass the selftest OK.
