So I went through the whole build and didn't use it once. What was it included for?

It is for you to be able to cope with these terminal screws, if ever needed.

It can also be used for things like very gently nudging drive belts into their slots.

It can be used to gently pry open the bearing holders in X-axis assembly, step 4.
