SCAD files wrong dimensions
Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to print the parts for the printer directly from the scad files, generating an STL with OpenSCAD, but after the part was printed I noticed that the holes were smaller than they should have been. I've only printed the x-end-idler and the x-end-motor parts. I checked the source code and for some reason the bearing is set to a diameter of 14.5mm and the smooth rod to 7.8.
Is there a particular reason for this? Was this intentional?
Thanks!
Re: SCAD files wrong dimensions
Hi Anil,
I think it's intentional. You have to be smaller to get a tight fit for the rods. The bearing part is sliced, so it can give enough room to the inserted bearings.
Regards
Stefan
