Sanding PEI safe?

Hi everyone. Sorry for the stupid question, but I was curious about something I found online.

Recently, I've received and built my Prusa i3 Mk2S and I love it. However, impatience and skullduggery left me using my 'jimmy' prying tool to pull up parts that probably could've been taken off the bed by hand. Doing so caused me to leave small scratches on the PEI surface near the center of the bed that is leaving discoloration on the bottom of prints and I fear it may also be messing with adhesion to the bed a bit.

A quick google search about getting scratches out of PEI lead me to a tutorial on LulzBot's website that says about getting rid of light scratches by gently sanding their PEI bed with 1500+ grit sandpaper.

Now, obviously LulzBot does not make the i3. However, I was curious if this would work or even be advisable with the Prusa PEI bed. If not, am I worrying too much about scratching up the bed?

Re: Sanding PEI safe?

i didn't use sandpaper, but "0000" steel wool to treat the scratches. worked fine. but whatever you do: the surface won't be as good as a brand-new one.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
