right motor fail / never print

Hey,

I have the mk2s since 3 months, I never print anything because I didn't have time to fix my problem. The right motor fail... When I turn off my printer the right side doesn't keep the position (it slides down)... So I can't print 🙁

If someone can help me, thank you !!

It's the video of my problem :

Re: right motor fail / never print

I assume that you've already checked whether the male connector of the right stepper is plugged into the correct female connector at the rambo board or not.
at the rambo board both steppers are parallel connected.

if you have a multimeter at hand, unplug the right stepper and measure the resistance between pin#1 and pin#2 (phase 1) of the plug, as well as between pin#3 and pin#4 (phase 2).
you should get a measurement of a few ohm.
if you don't, it's very likely that you've damaged the wires between the stepper and the connector.

you can do the same with the left stepper, to get values you can compare with the right stepper.

by the way, after half an hour of powering up the printer, you should be able to feel a temperature of approximately 40°C at each stepper.
if the right one remains cold, either your wiring is damaged or the motor itself is defective (very unlikely, but at least not impossible).

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
