Ranting about ABS: I'm so tired of how damn finicky it is!

Topic says it all. I love my printer! But I'm hating ABS. Even with an enclosure that i only recently completed.

PLA is easy. Hell, even ninja flex is more forgiving and easier to deal with (and a hell of a lot more reliable). I'm so tired of dealing with ABS.

Parts peeling up from the build plate, warping you name it. I've used various spools from Prusa and from other good sources. The needs of each spool are different and the success rate is low.

My spool of ASA from Dr3dfilament was a little touchy, but my success rate was MUCH higher. Probably at around 70% now, maybe higher. I need to find a source that doesn't take forever to ship, I guess. As a cousin of ABS, I would think it would suffer many of the same problems. The cost is higher since it is less popular, but I can get many more successful prints out of it!

I need something that will print successfully more than 40% of the time, can stand the Texas summers, is UV resilient, and is strong and stiff.

I suppose I could try things in PLA, ensure the design is good enough and then have a print shop create the finished piece out of something more exotic. But dammit, i shouldn't have to. I've got one more attempt with this spool and if it doesn't work, I'll swear off it and go with something else.
