Rambo Cover/Electrical Printed Parts Material

Hi there,

I recently built my Prusa i3 MK2 kit, and so far it's been going really well. One issue I'm seeing however is that the Rambo cover/case doesn't seem to be threaded properly, so I can't use the 40mm screw to close it. I was hoping to print a new version, but noticed that the material used was clearly different from the other parts, and didn't seem like it was ABS (at first glance seems to be PETG?).

Anyway, I was hoping I could get an answer as to which material was used to print out the electronics-related parts of the kit, including the Rambo case and power supply mount. I have some black PETG around so was hoping that would do the trick. Thanks in advance!

It totally does! I guess I missed it at that step in the manual, thanks. That said, it oddly seems to indicate you should use a normal hex nut instead of the included square nut on the step 8 box/illustration ( says to use 5x m3n nuts) - might be worth changing that.

Would still love to hear the material if anyone knows. I'm considering modifying it to add a raspberry pi holder or sometime in the future :).

Any particular reason to use PETG there? Does the RAMBO board get particularly hot?

Last i heard was that supposedly Josef Prusa himself said even PLA would be OK for the MK2 parts.

Never tried to to prove/disprove this.

I did reprint my Rambo lid in PLA no problems there, but i am still using the "original" PETG bottom part of the cover.

I actually think it's due to flexibility. When I was messing around with the hinges and trying to get the cover closed I definitely flexed the case a bit. I'm not 100% sure PETG is more flexible, but it did feel the ABS printed parts were a bit more rigid.
