I'm assuming my new printer (purchased just a few days ago) contains the updated firmware? Or will i need to update it?

Hi, yes it should 🙂 You can check in the support menu option on your LCD.

No, not unless you are willing to make a whole load of changes to the firmware first.
Why not just download the original Marlin firmware which will work on RAMPs and change that to your requirements?
