Prusa i3 nozzle -vs- abrasive filaments?

I understand that PLA/Carbon Fiber filament is very abrasive and can re-bore some nozzles to a larger diameter, especially those nozzles that are composed of softer metals. I am just wondering about the durability of the i3 nozzle and using abrasive filaments. Proto-pasta has developed some exotic filaments (PLA/CF, PLA/Stainless Steel, PLA Magnetic) that I would like to test - if not harmful to my i3 nozzle. Can the i3 nozzle stand up to harsher filaments?

just try to realize how much filament must go through small hole - any abrasive material will slowly destroy any nozzle. I3 nozzle is from stainless steel - that is harder then brass as the other printers have - but it will not last for ever.

Hi, the Prusa Nozzle on 3mm version of the printer is SS so it should last a long time. 1.75mm version has original E3D which is from brass. Brass will not last as long, but E3D has cheap replacement parts and they have even optional SS nozzle too. I tried Colorfab CF20 and it print really nice 🙂
