problem ... the filament does not stick to superfice..HELP !!!!!!

Hello,
I am a happy owner of MK2, or at least it was until two days ago.
about a month ago I received the kit, I enjoyed to assemble by following the detailed instructions, simple easy and fun ... I easily performed the calibration and began printing the first models without glue tapes etc .. ... the results are perfect models, beautiful I am satisfied (I've a bad hamlet that produced some really bad models) .I happy and satisfied of the purchase ..
For various commitments I have not used the printer for about a week, but unfortunately FIRST RE-known problem, the filament does not stick to the surface PEI, THE FILAMENT IS PERFECTLY extruded from the extruder, but does not stick on the surface, it is dragged by himself up to accumulate aBOUT HOTEND ... I tried everything I cleaned the floor with alchol and glass cleaner .. nothing ... I cLEAN the HOTEND wITH L AKE nOTHING .. I rerun the calibration ..nulla ... does not stick ... I tried it with the glue provided and you are unable to print ..I also printed dispitivo suggested by Nerdville for the calibration of PIND .. I rerun calibration calibration ... first layer as did the first time. ..but nothing to do ... I'm desperate 🙁
I do not know what else to try ... the v2 calibration is esegito but the thread Nos sticks ... or performed live calibration ..but nothing .. what can I try again ..
THANK YOU FOR ALL THE ADVICE THAT YOU GIVE ME

Keep trying to print V2calibration or any of the files included with the SD-Card that came with the printer (the Prusa Logo is a good test, too)

- Does the bed get warm?
- Clean the bed some more, use lots of Isopropyl alcohol and a paper towel (stay away from window cleaners, some leave a residue, do not use any glue or tape: PLA must stick without any crutches).
- Use Live Adjust-Z to lower the nozzle even more to increase the "squish".
- Check the manual, there's a chapter on how to resurface the PEI sheet with the scrubby side of a kitchen sponge

- if it sticks in some areas and not in others, use the manual bed level commands from the menu to try and get it level
- use a ruler and check if your bed is warped

- post a picture of it printing the first layer of the Prusa Logo

Re: problem ... the filament does not stick to superfice..HELP !!!!!!

I'm having the exact same issue. I used my printer for about a month here and there and it worked like a charm, and now all of a sudden the printbed adhesion isn't happening like it used to. Even testing some of the calibration prints (such as the zig-zag pattern calibration found on the SD-card) and the result was filament that did not stick to the surface. The minute the nozzle translates over a sharp corner it would come out rounded and eventually peel off, resulting in an ugly first layer. I've tried window cleaner and glue and it only made things worse if anything, just as stephan.k had suggested. My next test is to try with isopropyl alcohol and see if it improves at all.

In the mean time, I'm going to attempt to resurface the PEI sheet and play around with the live Z adjustments. I'll post my findings if there's any success or further difficulties in case others are experiencing the same issue.

DONT resurface anything, just use some IPA and you will probably be fine!
Windowcleaner was a bad recommendation from PR IMHO, I've bought three different brands here in sweden, and they've all made my adhesion way worse... not sure what kind of window-dirt they have over there 🙂

Same here. I only tried 2 different window cleaners from the local supermarket, but both made it worse.

I've bumped my heated bed temperatures and print head temperatures up, and that improved adhesion to the print bed.

Some other experience from istanbul, I have not tried any other filament yet other than PLA. I am planing to buy some ABS though. I have no fantasy on printing with strange filaments which may ruin my nozzle.

I have a plastic oem atomizer spray for IPA and after a while alcohol is vaporizing I guess... if the IPA is something below like %20 left in the bottle, it is loosing its properties because of the poor sealing of the oem bottle.

Another option was slowing down the printer down to %80 for the first couple of layers. (while printing you can modify the speed with the knob on the main info screen)
