printing problems

hi, I have a printer original Prusa i3 MK2,
The printer works perfectly for small pieces (XYZ 5-6 cm), but for larger pieces I always have problems. When the press is at about 50% the printer stops sending the plastic but everything is working perfectly.
For large pieces there are special settings?

I do not speak English, sorry for my language but if someone speaks Italian will explain the problem much better 🙁

Thanks!

Stefano

How are you controlling the printer (Pronterface/Cura/Octoprint etc) ?

Can you zip up and attach a failed GCode file to a post?

Re: printing problems

It sounds like you need to adjust your print bed offsets to better allow the first layer to stick to the bed, you can find these offsets in the "calibration' menu. Once these are set, larger prints will be easier to print.

Hi Peter

I use the "Prusa 3D program Slic3r MK2" in simple mode to create g.code file (STL to g.code) and I copy the files to the printer card
and I work with i3 Plus LCD / SD.

this is an example a failed GCode file

Hi Stephen,

the problem is when the work is very advanced and well done, suddenly, the printer stops "melt" the plastic (with the right temperature and extruder motor running) but until the middle of the work (approximately 50%) everything is running perfectly and the printer finishes printing, as if all was well.
I do not understand what happens from that moment.

thanks

Re: printing problems

Stefano.

There are 2 things you must do, one of which you are not...

1. Allow sufficient time for the slicer to complete before copying the file to the SD card.
2. "Safely remove" the SD card before removing it from the PC.

Re: printing problems

So - in the middle of the print - the hot-end continues to move around and the print bed continues to move, but no filament is being extruded?

Or does all movement stop?
