Printer loses calibration
Every time I finish a print and start a new one, the extruder hits the bed. The only way I have found to avoid this is to push the bed all the way back (to hear the endstop 'click' , then run the Z calibration routine. If I try to run the z calibration routine without pushing the bed all the way back, the extruder will crash into the bed as well (it doesn't align itself with the origin). Any thoughts?

I found my issue and I thought I would post in case others find this thread with similar problems. Turns out that both wires into the endstop at the back of the printer were broken where they are supposed to be soldered to the endstop. Once I soldered them back onto the endstop, everything works well.

In my case, if the extruder hits the bed, this works for me:
- cancel the print
- settings - move z - go to +100mm
- calibration - go to home point
- start the print again
now the live-z adjust is respected again, seems to be a firmware issue?

In my case it was the two wires soldered to the endstop at the very back of the printer (near the motor and belt).

I had exactly the same problem. When first build, the printer did manage to produce some good prints, but then thing started to go wrong. I couldn't figure out why the printer would not calibrate properly until I noticed that the LCD showed that the y-axis was always showing 1, even when the micro switch was not pressed. After a little examination, and testing with a multimeter, I noticed that the wires to the y-axis switch had broken inside of the heat shrink. A light tug and they just fell out. So I re-soldered the wires onto the switch, using new heat shrink, and checked that the y-axis now showed 0 on the LCD. I then re-calibrated the printer, and the issue with the extruder crashing into the bed ceased. It appears to go through the calibration routine okay, but now I have other problems which I will post separately.
As many people seem to have this problem with detached wires from the y-axis switch, I hope that Prusa and co will look into this and ensure it doesn't happen for anyone else.
