Preheats fine, load file from pronterface, immediate Err Max Temp

The subject of this post says it all. My printer will preheat just fine, as soon as I try to load my print from pronterface, the printer reads err max temp. I've search through several forums for a solution and all they really say is wiggle a few cables here and there, check your connection to make sure they aren't loose, etc.

I've probably checked my connections a dozen times and wiggling cables isn't going to do any good because my issue is happening when there is no movement in the printer ( its sitting at its home axis preheating).

I also tried downloading the latest firmware in hopes that this would fix it but to no avail.

Help please....I currently have a brand new, fully assembled printer, that does everything right (well besides read the SD card if you read my prior post) up until the last second before it craps out....Feeling frustrated

I have the same problem, but I am usually using the SD card and not pronterface. Anyway, for me, the problems started after flashing the new FW. It worked nicely for the first three to four prints, but since today I am always getting this error as well.
In my case, I get the error after printing around 20% of the object.

I found in one post that this might be due to using the Slic3r for the 3mm model, however, I made sure that I am using the 1.75mm Slic3r version.

Hi!

So, I did some tests: Apparently this seems to be a problem with Slic3r. I tested an old gcodes (generated approx. 1 month ago) and it prints fine. A newly generated gcode gives me the MAXTEMP error. Anyway: gary.w, if you want to try my old gcode, just tell me, I can send it to you.

What I'll do next is, I will generate a new gcode of a different stl file to rule out any other possibility. And I probably reinstall the Slic3r SW. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for the info! I ended up trying a different slicer software and had no problems myself.
