PINDA Probe damaged

Hi!.. I have a Prusa MK2 since last year and in last weeks start to present problems related with calibration. First was message: Bad leveling failed. Sensor disconnected or cable broken. Waiting for reset..

Today on morning was XYZ calibration failed. Bed calibration point was not found....

And 2 hours ago the ultimate error.. Selftest error!.. Please check endstops. Wiring error Z. Z axe do not work anymore. can up until to top, but can't going down for look for home or bed plate.

Reading your forums found problem with PINDA probe. Check lecture from end stops and x,y = 0 and z = 1 when z axe is up.. and do not matter what i'm doing reding is the same .

Can you help me pls ?

Re: PINDA Probe damaged

I had the same problem. The cable of the pinda was broken, just 15 cm away from the pinda.
The endstop should be 0 when there is no metal under the probe.

To check if a wire is broken, just move the cable bundel while looking at the reading of the endstop. Most likely you will see it go from 0 to 1 and back, that's when the broken cable makes contact again.

What I did was locating the place where the wire was broken, cut that peace out and soldered a new peace of (thicker) wire and all was oke

Let us know if you solved it.

Good luck
