Odd "musical" noises when printing
First time builder of my recently acquired MK2. After setting it up over the past week, I have yet to get all the noises to disappear. Currently, when anything prints, it sounds like an off-key orchestra playing. The selftest & XYZ axis check came back happy and it finds all 9 calibration points perfectly. The prints actually come out rather nice, but the sound is starting to wear on me having seen others on youtube with printers that all you hear are the fans (how nice that'll be!!). Right now, I've gone over the printer and I don't see anything that needs adjusting, but being new to this I'm hoping someone can steer me in the right direction on where to start looking. Here's a short video of the sounds coming from a print:
Thanks for your help!
Re: Odd "musical" noises when printing
Sounds like table upper plate is resonating. If you lift the printer into air by hand temporarily while printing, does the sound disappear?
Re: Odd "musical" noises when printing
That sounds pretty normal to me...

Re: Odd "musical" noises when printing
Thanks David for the suggestion, and yes, it does lessen when doing that. I was also pointed in the direction of printing some dampening feet (doing it right now) and even putting it on a anti-fatigue mat. My ultimate plan is to get it in an enclosure, but I'm just starting out and learning, so little bits at a time.
Gabriele, glad to know it sounds normal! I actually thought my printer may be acting odd, being new to this, but then I found out this is normal behaviour for stepper motors. Learn something new every day! Someone even sent me this video that I thought was quite entertaining...
Thank you both for your help.
