Nozzle Temperature

Temperature will not go high then 176 no matter how high you tell it to go. Check all connections and updated firmware. Just built this print yesterday and every thing else is working. Any help would be fantastic. Thanks

Re: Nozzle Temperature

if you think every connection is ok, just check a second (or third) time that the ferrules of the heater wires (the red ones, with the textile cover) sit tight into the molex connector and that the screws are tightened. do the same for the 12v connections between rambo and the psu.
the hotend requires approximately 3 ampere of current, so if you've got contact resistances, you'll lose power there... and more serious: you'll heat up the connectors instead of the hotend 😳 .

💡 i don't know what kind of measurement equipment you own. can you measure the resistance of the heater (at the molex connector) ? it should be around 4 ohm.

➡ then: measure the voltage that you get at the rambo from the psu. it should be between 12v and 13.8v dc.

➡ if you got an infrared thermometer: check the temperature of the nozzle while your prusa says it's 176°C. might be that the small 100k ohm thermistor is damaged or got a bad thermal contact to the heater block.

---

further question: might it be that you live in the usa and that the psu is still set to 220/240v ac ?

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
