Multiple issues after assembling MK2s
I've assembled the MK2s after following all instructions and it looks right. Everything came together just fine. After powering up the printer some issues showed:
1. The knob on the display can be pressed and the menu changes - however, turning the knob shows no reaction in the menu
2. SD card removed - shown in the display. Even though the card is inserted correctly and can be read by a computer.
3. the most severe issue occurred when I was running the calibration script from the SD card using Pronterface and the USB connection. The print head hits the headbed after it calibrated on the home (corner) point fine and moved towards the middle of the bed. There is a pretty bad dent in the bed now. Because the calibration didn't work I have not yet tried to print anything.

I found the issue - one of the display cables were not connected correctly to the electronics. After I was able to run the self test and calibration it works.

The display cable, was that the cause of all your issues?

Yes. Because of the display not communicating with the electronics correctly the calibration was not done. The script I executed is just one piece of the calibration but the major part can only be done through the display menu. Once the cable was fixed the SD card was readable and the calibration went through successfully.
