Hi Chris,
the most common issue with the Z axis, is the adjustment of the two screws on the ends of the X axis smooth rods.

these screws are supposed to lightly touch the ends of the smooth rods

overtightening these adjuster screws can cause excess friction on the Z axis lead screws and the z axis smooth rods.

the two ends of your X axis, in the video, are at different heights,
normally, when you drive the X axis to the top of the frame, one side hits the end stop, and the other side continues up till it also hits the end stop, which levels the X carriage assembly.

in your case, the X carriage comes to a stop before it gets levelled.... possibly because there is too much friction...

try loosening the screws on the ends of the X axis smooth rods, and then press the orange ends of the X axis together to re seat the smooth rods, then with the power switched off, try holding one Z axis leadscrew still, adjust the other leadscrew by hand until the X axis assembly is near enough level.

after this, try calibration again... if all works well, lightly tighten the screws on the ends of the X axis smooth rods until they just touch the ends of the rods, and check that calibration works still...

Hi Joan. So I followed your directions but I’m not getting good results. The left motor is still vibrating very loudly and z axis calibration is still giving similar results I. The video.

The distance between the threaded rods is almost exactly the same (Less than 1/16 in.) at the top and bottom when the extruded is at the top and bottom.

Anything else I can try?

both motors use the same driver, so there shouldn't be any difference in performance.

has the left motor ever run smoothly?

Could you disconnect the motors from the X axis to see if they run smoothly when not under load?
Easiest way to do this is to remove the two M3 socket screws on each of the plastic lead screw nuts...
and slide the X axis assembly off the lead screw nuts then the Z axis motors should run smoothly...

if the left motor still judders there it is probable that there is a fault with the motor or wiring

otherwise

I undid both z axis motors. The left one is faulty and does not work. Ill be in contact with customer support
