Layers does not stick to each other
Hello,
I have difficulties to print : the first layer is ok, it sticks. But after they are not stocking to each otehr (see picture) and we can very easily remove each one by hand... What can it be? I'm using ABS (Ice filament - white). Thanks
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
raise your extruder temp by 10 degrees and check again
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
Ok I tryied but same result!... I've set it up to 265°C (for filament settings indicated to 260° max)... Do I have to raise it up again to 275°C?
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
are you printing in cold environment ?
try to decrease your printing speed by half .
if also wont help , increase extruder multi by 0.1 .
i have colido abs filament with recommended temp of 220-230 , i print it at around 250 to get good layer bond
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
Thanks for help. The environment is not really cold, but less than the other rooms (it is in the cellar - arround 18°C). I already tryied to setup the speed to 45mm/s but with no effect. Do you think I have to decrease more? I use an ultimaker 2 just beside with same parameters and same filament brand and it works (just not the same color : white for the prusa). When you write "increase extruder multi by 0.1" what do you mean?
PS: I tryied with 175°C but same problem, and shape of the print is affected, I suppose layers are too much leted.
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
18c is very cold for abs printing.
make sure your cooling fan is turned off .
i meant extruder multiplier , increase it in your slicer.
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
I turned the fan off but same issue... I don't find extruder multiplier in Cura... Any idea where to find that?
Thanks
Re: Layers does not stick to each other
I just found something, because I think these are (perhap's) just the limits of the ABS and 3D printing... A such thin wall just break like that when we pull with fingers. So I just found that the wall of my print is not the one I put in the CAD program (tinkercad). I put 2mm walls and here when I measure the results I can see 1mm !! I don't understand why my wall thikness is not respected?... I have a parameter in Cura which says "wall thinkness" (but this is about filled shapes I suppose). The parameter is on "1.02". Could this parameter be the one who is making my wall 1mm and not 2mm?...
