How to glue teflon to aluminium?

Hi, I was able to remove plastic melt from the teflon tube of my extruder by a hot air gun; but it melted off the glue holding the tube to the metal of the extruder. Does anyone know what glue to use to reattach it?

Many Thanks,

John

Hi,
I dont know which printer do you have (MK1/MK2), but there is no glue used on PTFE tube (or anywhere else). PTFE tube is secured by black collet on top of the hotend (PUSH=UNLOCK).

Look at assembly instructions (E3D on-line):

MK2:

MK1 (heatblock is upside down for MK1):

Re: How to glue teflon to aluminium?

beside the point that the ptfe tube isn't glued inside the aluminium body of the hotend (but hold by the little collet):
glueing teflon would be a real challenge, because the main property of the material is that nothing should stick at it.

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Its tough to answer questions on this forum isn't it? With all the changes to the models....anyway the photo shown in the 1st reply was unfamiliar to me; my 3d printer extruder (MK2) doesnt have a 'collet', only a wisp of plastic around the teflon tube where it attaches to the metal part of the extruder. As for gluing teflon....of course I read about it and there are adhesives that are supposed to glue teflon to metal. Thanks for the replies.

John
