hotend specs: lite6 or not ?
Hi,
I'm wondering what are the exact specifications of the prusa here http://shop.prusa3d.com/en/3d-printers/59-original-prusa-i3-kit-with-lcd.html
In the video of presentation, the hotend is supposed to reach 300C.
On the spec page, the list of compatible material are PLA, ABS, PET, HIPS, Flex PP, Ninjaflex, Laywood, Laybrick, Nylon, Bamboofill, Bronzefill, ASA, T-Glase, Carbon-fibers enhanced filaments...
But on the blog http://prusaprinters.org/prusa-i3-is-now-1-75-mm/ , it is said that the hotend is a E3D lite6, which according to its specs http://e3d-online.com/Lite6 , can reach only 245C and print only PLA, ABS.
Is it possible to get clarification of exactly which hotend is sold and what it can/can't do ?

The original 3mm version of this printer used the V6 hotend and required much higher temperatures to melt the 3mm filament - up to 285 degrees.
The 1.75mm version has the Lite6 hot end, which will print up to 255 degrees (josef has confirmed this). There are very few 1.75mm filaments that require these temperatures and all the filament types specified by Prusa Research can be printed with the Lite6 hot end.
There are 2 major differences between the V6 and Lite6:
The V6 has a separate heat break/barrel
The Lite6 has PTFE tubing extending further down towards the heater block.
The print speed specifications for both hot ends exceed the capability of the printer for most objects.
The advantage of the Lite6 over the V6 is apparently that it is less easily damaged.

just little correction, 3mm version wasnt V6, it was all-metal Prusa Nozzle MKII

Its a V6Lite , as stated by prevoius posters,
And ive used pretty much most of those filament types with no issue whatsoever on my v6lite (with the exception of the carbon-fiber, havent tried that yet, But the rest of them are no issue at all in the current Machine 😀
