Hotend installed upside down?
Hi guys,
I noticed something recently when I replaced my faulty heater cartridge on my i3. When I watched instruction videos for assembling the e3d V6, I couldn't help but notice that the hotend on the i3 is installed upside down compared to all product images of the extruder. With that I mean that the thinner part of the cartridge clamp is faced towards the print surface, compared to on the i3 where Prusa have mounted it with the thicker part towards the print surface.
I'm wondering if this is intentional? I mean, shouldn't the heating be more effective since the cartridge then is closer to the end of the nozzle? Happy to hear opinions about this.

Hi Sascha
Yes, this is known about and intentional. It has very little effect on printing and assists with cable management.
