Help Removing Filament

I built the kit just last week. Was printing great for a couple of days, then the filament got stuck. I just took off the nozzle and have it soaking in acetone and will clean it. But the filament is still stuck in the unit. Unload/load does nothing. I tried gently pulling it out, but it moved a bit and nothing more.

What is the best way to get the filament out?

Here is what I have: Filament is stuck in the silver heating unit and heating the PLA to 250 and load/unload do not work. The extruder gear can move it.

Re: Help Removing Filament

BE VERY CAREFUL WHEN WORKING WITH A HOT EXTRUDER.

Try heating it to 220, removing the nozzle, and gently and CAREFULLY push a small allen key up from the bottom (use pliers). That will usually clear it. Please don't burn yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I just tried this. With the nozzle off - there is something blocking the heating block about 23mm from the bottom. That is as far as the allen key goes. I can't pull the filament out the top and it will not push through. Still jammed. Not sure the best path to take. Take it all apart and use acetone and a heat touch?
