Re: Help modifying firmware

Hi Spencer

I don't think you want to change your MAX_TEMP settings in firmware.

There are 2 versions of the latest firmware; one for the Lite6 extruder (259 degrees) and one (metal) for the V6 extruder (310 degrees).

These values are the absolute maximum settings for the respective extruders; exceeding the temperatures will cause serious damage.

If you do want to look at this further, search my posts for terms like "Arduino", "IDE" and "repository". You will find all the instructions for installing the RAMBo stuff into the Arduino IDE, but not how to program in C...

Hi Peter, thanks for the reply. Where is the v6 version of the firmware since that's the extruder I upgraded my printer to.

Question is, if thermistor can take such high temperature. According to E3D, supplied thermistor will not survive temperatures over 295C.

Roman, the material with the highest melting point I'll be printing in is PETG so I just need up to about 260.

Spencer

I had a quick look around and the maximum printing temp for this filament is 250 degrees. Some sites are rather specific and state 238 degrees for optimal print quality.

Re: Help modifying firmware

Hi peter l, that's strange since the site I use says 250. I guess additives can effect this. Lastly I also use colorfabb xt and the optimal temperature is 250-255. (it theoretically is also PETG with some other modifications)
