Head Sticking on X Axis rods during printing

New build and 5 days of frustrations... I have managed to get the machine to calibrate and to print the purse sign and part of the little mervin, however, 75% into the print he came of the bed and thats when the major problems started.

When I tried reprinting I had issues with head on the X axis, it was sticking and rattling a lot. I tried removing the pulley belt and making sure it was not to tight as well as checking the cogs for slipping but all seems fine. I rebuilt the extruder assembly to make sure everything was correct. I tried a Z calibration and it got and measure the 9 points ok. When I started a XYZ Calibration it starts going back and forth on the 1st point for a while then the X axis gets stuck and starts making a loud noise and finally gets fully stuck and stops the calibration. I can push the head and free it and it is ok for a few travels but when moving back and forth in very small steps it sticks... nothing is slipping. Could it be something to do with the bearing binding?

Can anyone shed some light on what the problem is and how to fix it?

Attached is a picture of what happen with Marvin and printing the vase.....

Re: Head Sticking on X Axis rods during printing

typical x-axis layer shift.

happens when something holds up the extruder carriage while moving.

might have several reasons:
1. filament is tangled and interferes with the carriage movement
2. bearings of the extruder carriage misaligned
3. x-belt too strong
5. x-pulleye at the motor not fastened correct
6. x-idler "hangs" sometimes (screw tightened to much)
7. cable harness sometimes catches something
8. overall force to move the extruder carriage to high (maybe wrong bearings or rods) for "silent mode"
9. curious cat
10. ....

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
