First Print Results
Here are some prints I designed and printed. I am curious about the finish and what might I do to clean it up. You can see the some of the small lines coming out of the side which are not flush to the others. Is that normal? What adjustments are recommended to keep the finish more smooth?
Update:
The first print is the one with the bolt in it and it used Slic3r "NORMAL" print settings. It has a rough finish with the visible lines coming off the surface.

The picture containing the batch of 9 prints is using the Slic3r "DETAIL" print settings which resulted in a smoother finish.
I am curious about the print temp. I am printing at 285 degrees. I am told that it too hot but the finish on them seem much better than my first single print.
Re: First Print Results
Hey, that looks good for first print!
About the print temp. I noticed that the LCD states the temp will warmup to 285 degrees, but when you start printing, it goes down to whatever temp you programmed in using Slic3r. See if that is what is happening.
Re: First Print Results
Yep, that is correct. You can change the preheat temp in the firmware and recompile it, but we tend to put it bit higher than is required for the print.
Re: First Print Results
I'll check that. I am using OctoPrint so I can see a graph of the temp over time. I have not noticed anything like that but I was not looking for it.
