Filament not sticking to print bed

I have just bought a Prusa i3 MK2, and have problems with my prints.
The first prints did OK, but now the filament will not stick to the print bed.

I print with the PLA that come with the Prusa Kit. And used the glue that came with it.
Temprature: 215
Build plate: 55
Firmware: 3.0.9

I have tried to Lice Adjust the Z-axis up and down.
What steps do I have to follow to fix this problem?
Please see video at and attached image for settings in Cura 2.4.0-BETA2.

Re: Filament not sticking to print bed

Ok, first of all, skip the glue. A "normal" PLA print needs to stick without any glue. If it doesn't then there's something wrong and it's better to fix the real problem than to hide the problem under a layer of glue.

Looks like your nozzle is way too far up. Go back to printing the Prusa Logo that came on the printers sd-card. This is to eliminate possible problems with slicer settings. While it is printing the first layer, use live-Z adjust in adjust to a "higher negative number" (if it is -0.200 now, try -0.250 next, then -0,300 and so forth untill it sticks everywhere)

Also, go look for JeffJordans Guide for Z-Axis calibration here: http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/prusa-i3-kit-building-calibrating-first-print-main-f6/life-adjust-z-my-way-t2981.html . That is a neat way to set Z properly.

Once your Z-axis works fine with the presliced files, you can start looking into your Cura settings. I do not use Cura, so i cannot help you with that.

Also, make sure your bed is clean. Usually cleaning it with Isopropyl Alcohol is fine for daily use. An occasional wipe with acetone can fix adhesion problems if Isoprop alcohol doesn't quite cut it anymore.

Thanks, it worked with adjusting Live Z. Still not perfect, but some models works. I will test it further with your tips.

Re: Filament not sticking to print bed

What thickness is your first layer?
the Prusa i3 has a minimum FIRST layer thickness if 0.2mm
did you start heating the bed with the Pinda probe, very close to the bed?
heat transfer to the PINDA probe, alters it's sensitivity
the issue may be several things...

0.15 first layer height will effectively give to 50microns more gap between the bed and the extruder. a hot PINDA probe may give you even more gap between the extruder and the bed,

these change the effective liveZ setup.

leading to poor prints.

Re: Filament not sticking to print bed

i believevit must be a setting in the slicer. i say this because i used cura to try my 1st 3d print and it never stuck. i dunno why but i then tried slic3r and it printed perfect. i want to try to figure out cura because i noticed before my print came loose , the quality looked amazing compared to slic3r.

Re: Filament not sticking to print bed

Hi,
I was fighting with that problem for some time when I got my I3 MK3. My problem was cleaning the bed when it was still hot.
Wait for the bed to cool down, then clean it with alcohol or acetone and then print. (make sure 1st layer calibration was done properly).
If you don't have pure enough alcohol, try hot water with dish detergent, but make sure to wash it out with pure water before printing.

Good luck.
Wojtek
