Fan and Heat Dropping
I have recently upgraded to the newer 1.75mm extruder ( http://shop.prusa3d.com/en/3d-printer-parts/71-prusa-i3-plus-285-mm-to-175-mm-upgrade-kit.html ).
I upgraded with no problems following the guide and have printed a few small objects successfully but I am having problems with a larger PLA print and the layers not sticking mid print (as soon as I get to the honeycomb infill). It seems to be due to the print fan cooling the hot end to 190 / 210 (target is 210).
Is this a usual effect of using the fan, should it not heat up to 210 even with the fan on? If I turn the fan off it does successfully finish the print without problems but the fan is on by default and I have to keep sending fan off commands (I guess my slicer settings have the fan turned on for the print?).

You have propably weak heater cartridge, but first check heater and PSU connector and make sure that screws are tighten properly.
Solutions:
Ask on-line support for heater cartridge replacement.
or
set fan to lower speed in slic3r (filament settings tab --> cooling). My heater was so weak I had to lower fan speed to 55%. Later I decided to replace heater and it solved problem completely (100% fan speed with no problem).

Thanks for responding, I have had a look at the topic and tried running the fan on 50% but it still drops by about 7/8 degrees.
I will ask support for a new heater cartridge or look at finding a replacement.
