Extruder idler doesn't move back and forth once top screws are put in

Hi all,

My understanding is that the extruder idler is supposed to be able to move back and forth with the springs keeping the extruder idler against the filament passing through. However, I'm finding that once I put the top screws in, the extruder idler is unable to move at all, even when I don't have springs in place to push against the extruder idler.

Here is a picture of the extruder idler from the side. You can see that the extruder idler can't move forward because it's hard against the extruder gear: https://goo.gl/photos/kLHDnTZTxfkd9HRu6

Here is a picture of the extruder idler from the front. You can see that the extruder idler can't move backward because the top screws are hard against the top of the hole in the plastic: https://goo.gl/photos/hAV73R4RQgF1BSz78

Am I doing something wrong? Is the extruder idler not supposed to move back and forth?

Thanks in advance,
Ceryen

Looking at Thomas Sanlanderer's build video, it seems like the extruder idler should be able to move much farther forward toward the extruder gear shaft:

But I don't immediately see how that's possible without the extruder gear getting in the way ❓

Seems that I misinterpreted this picture: https://d17kynu4zpq5hy.cloudfront.net/igi/prusa3d/HQgCODecaliCWCy1.huge

I thought that the black axle was resting outside of the plastic, but actually it needs to be pushed into the plastic.

It looks to me as if the black shaft (thats used as an axle for the bearing') isn't pushed all the way in. Maybe there's some some leftover plastic ridge preventing you to push it all the way in?

Here's how that part should look:

Edit: As usual, I am too slow, you figured it out already 😉
